CampusAdTrader is an online marketplace for buying and selling print, online and classified advertising in U.S. college newspapers.
- For College Newspapers, we provide a forum where you can list your available ad space for sale, sell blocks of advertising in bulk, and generate visibility for unsold space, as needed, in front of a national audience of media buyers and advertising professionals. And we help you accomplish it with a quick turnaround, plenty of options, and keep you in control throughout the process.
- For Advertising Agencies and Media Buyers, we offer a venue for you to search, browse, select and bid on display, online and classified advertising opportunities in campus newspapers around the country. In addition, our AuctionWatch feature keeps you informed of current and future auctions at schools-of-interest automatically, and our proprietary HotLeads system lets newspapers at your schools-of-interest know their ad space is in demand.
We derive our revenue from two sources: Newspaper sales commissions and media buyer subscription fees. We take a flat 10% commission from the newspapers on advertising auctions completed through this website. (Posting auctions and the papers' ongoing membership is completely free). On the other side, we charge a one-time $25 registration fee (waived through 6/30/07) to advertising agencies and media buyers for access to bid on listings on this website. (Browsing and searching before bidding is free, however).
CampusAdTrader differs from traditional college-advertising firms or placement agencies because we are a neutral venue. We place the power to strike a deal directly in the hands of the participants. There are no middlemen here, negotiating on your behalf or marking up the cost of your ads. Instead, campus media buyers deal directly with the media on CampusAdTrader.
